Six weeks ago I had Bladder Suspension surgery. I will not post the details of the events leading up to the surgery. I will tell you this: it was a success and I am a testimony to the results of modern medicine. I often find myself singing a childhood song, "How dry I am, how wet you'll be if you don't have my surgery." OK, I changed the words. No one knows who actually penned that song so there is no fear of plagiarism.
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml is a website my daughter, Amanda (a.k.a. http://mamasings.blogspot.com/) sent to me with a simple statement. "you could try this".
Well, I tried it (although modified). I can do this. I now have my 6 week post op, pre-cruise, and oh-my-goodness I'm turning 50 exercise regiment now in place. No scales, no tape measures -- I am going to "just do it" - thank you very much, Nike! I have also made some dietary modifications (call it what you want to, it's a diet).
Monday, Wednesday and Friday -- the walking/running plan
Tuesday and Thursday -- water aerobics and swimming at the gym
Saturday -- you've got to be kidding
Sunday -- I will worship
In my time of lack, I will enjoy tanning and working.
I have posted this, therefore I have accountability. Hold me to it. Help me. My cruise is in mid January. I will not look good in a bathing suit (never have/never will) but I will look pretty darn cool running on the deck. I am hoping that I will be well on my way to leaving the walking off the plan and just running by cruise time. My greatest inspiration is my daughter, Amanda. She runs and she began with a plan much like she gave me. She looks awesome. She is 18 years younger than me but I can do what I can do. I am inspired, I am
UP AND RUNNING.
