The Prayer of Faith
(James 5:13-16 NIV)
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Wow! That is such a powerful Word the Lord gave us. I have been praying that WORD this morning. I have been reminding the Lord what HIS Word says. I have been reminding the Lord that I DO, in deed, have FAITH. During my time of prayer, I have received two phone calls that were in direct answer to my prayer. God will always be faithful to complete what He says.
I love how the scripture is translated in the NIV but I grew up with the KJV and that is the Bible I most often use. It says this:
The effectual fervant prayer of the righteous availeth much.
(James 5:16)
I, of myself, am NOT righteous. MY righteousness is only in HIM.
Lord, in Your precious name, Jesus, I thank You today for answering prayer. You always hear me. You always know my heart. I know that when I pray in faith, believing, YOU hear me and You supply my need. You even give me the desires of my heart. I thank You that TODAY my prayer avails much. Amen

Such a great encouragement to me today. Thank you
Hi Karen! I finally got a post in! I also stopped by your daughter's blog. What a cutie and she looks just like you! Enjoy your blog. Please say a prayer for me as my church as asked me to give a quick testimony in regard to my perspective on Pat's journey. Pray that I will speak words that glorify Him!
Hugs!
