Mixed in with my Mexican Heather and my Mexican Hummingbird these two different plants came up. I did not plant them. I do not even know what they are. Somewhere along the way, someone at the nursery must have dropped a seed in with my plants I bought and planted. Maybe a little bird dropped it. All I know is I did not plant it but I am getting to enjoy it.
Hmmmmmmm. It reminds me of a parable Jesus told as He sat by the sea side (Galilee).
" . . . . . Behold, a sower went forth to sow; and when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up, and choked them:
But other fell into good ground,
and brought forth fruit,
some a hundredfold,
some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."
Matthew 13:3-9 (KJV)
No matter where we go, no matter what we say, we are dropping little seeds along the way. Sometimes our seeds are just eaten up, sometimes they last for a while, but the thing is, our little seeds do something every time. Keep sowing and the more you sow the more you will learn how to sow. Look for good ground, fertile soil, ground prepared for the seed. It will render a beautiful plant for someone else to enjoy. They did not plant it -- YOU did!
Oh, my precious Lord, please help me today. Give me wisdom to plant the seed You have blessed me with into fertile soil. Let my words be seasoned with grace and with wisdom. Let the seed that I sow render fruit that it may further Your Kingdom. Let my words be few. Let me speak when spoken through. Teach me Your ways, Oh, Lord. Order my steps in Your Word. Give me wisdom to know where to plant and when to plant. Give me wisdom. Oh, my precious Lord, I need wisdom. You know my heart. My name is written in the palm of Your hand. You were there in the secret place when my body was formed. You fashioned me. I was fearfully and wonderfully made. You KNOW me by name and You have called me by name. I love You, my Lord, and I trust You. Bless all those who read this and give them understanding. In Your precious name, Jesus, Amen.
